Charlotte Attorney
Rachel M. Noorthoek is a personal injury attorney with over 15 years of litigation experience.
Rachel was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. She attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and graduated with a degree in English. Rachel returned home to Chicago to earn her law degree at DePaul College of Law. She was a member of the Moot Court Appellate team at DePaul and competed nationally.
While Rachel was attending law school, her brother was injured while working as an ironworker. Rachel clerked for the law firm that represented her brother, which was the beginning of her career representing those injured as a result of the negligence of others.
She saw firsthand how an injury could change someone’s life and knew that this was the type of law she wanted to practice.
Rachel continued to represent injured people for the following four years, getting invaluable experience as a plaintiff’s attorney. She handled every facet of a case and tried multiple cases to verdict during this time.
After representing injured people for four years, Rachel switched sides and began work as an insurance defense attorney. This experience was priceless to Rachel as she was able to see how insurance companies truly evaluated claims.
In 2015 Rachel and her husband moved to North Carolina, and at that time, she decided to represent injured people once again.
Since her move to North Carolina, Rachel has dedicated her work to helping injured people get the justice they deserve. She handles multiple personal injury claims, including motor vehicle collisions, dog bites, and premises liability claims. She has tried numerous cases to verdict and is not afraid to fight for her clients in court to get them the justice they deserve. Rachel has also argued before the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
In addition to North Carolina, Rachel was licensed in South Carolina in 2019. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, the Northern District of Illinois, all State courts in North Carolina, all federal courts in North Carolina, and all state courts in South Carolina.
She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, The Mecklenburg County Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice.
Rachel and her husband Scott have two sons. She and her family enjoy trips to the beach and the mountains, boating, and cheering for the Panthers.
