Hailing from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Mr. Taylor’s upbringing fostered a deep appreciation for outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and motorcycling. His journey led him to Avon, Connecticut, where he attended Avon Old Farms School, excelling in lacrosse and football while maintaining his passion for outdoor pursuits.
Education and Early Career
Jason’s academic prowess shone as he graduated from Hobart College in Geneva, NY, remarkably completing a four-year curriculum in just three years. After a brief stint in construction and roofing, he embarked on his legal path. Enrolling at American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., he graduated with honors, laying the foundation for his legal career.
In 1993, Jason commenced his legal journey in Charlotte and later co-founded a new firm in the spring of 1996. In April 2005, he established The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor, with offices in Charlotte, Hickory, Columbia, South Carolina, Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Greenville, North Carolina.
Legal Accolades and Affiliations
Jason’s legal acumen has earned him the esteemed AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He’s certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a distinguished member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
His extensive licensure includes all state courts in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Supreme Court, The U.S. Middle and Western Districts Courts of North Carolina, the U.S. Court for the District of South Carolina, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
Jason’s commitment to the legal profession is exemplified by his three terms as Vice President of North Carolina Advocates for Justice, where he’s also served on their Board of Governors and executive committee. He’s an active member of professional organizations such as the American Association of Justice, North Carolina Advocates For Justice, N.C. Bar Association, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, The Motorcycle Injury Trial Lawyers Association, and Catawba and Mecklenburg Bar Association.
Sharing his legal expertise, Jason has taught numerous Continuing Legal Education classes and authored “Trying the Motorcycle Accident Case,” published in the October 2013 issue of the Trial Briefs. He’s further contributed to the legal community as a judge and coach in mock trial competitions for high school students.
Beyond the legal realm, Jason is a member of non-professional organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, the National Rifle Association, American Motorcyclist Association, Harley Owners Group (Charlotte, Hickory), Concerned Bikers Association, The Bikers and Needy Children Foundation, and the Motorcycle Riders Foundation.
Family and Personal Interests
Outside of his legal practice, Jason finds joy in his family life. He is married to Andie Taylor and embraces his role as a step-parent to two wonderful children, Jack and Katie. The Taylors reside on Black Sheep Farm, sharing their space with dogs, sheep, chickens, and bees. Jason treasures family time, enjoys reading, and continues to pursue his passion for hunting and motorcycle riding.
