Pedestrian Accident on New Bern Ave

Raleigh police closed down one direction of New Bern Avenue for roughly half an hour after a man was hit by a vehicle Tuesday night, August 22nd.

At approximately 9:05 p.m. a pedestrian was hit by a car on New Bern Avenue, which is U.S. 64 Business. The westbound lanes of the road were closed.

According to the authorities, the inbound lanes of New Bern Avenue were blocked off around 9:15 p.m. near Trawick Road.

The man hit by the car was taken to a nearby hospital with severe injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the car stayed at the scene after the collision with the pedestrian.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
