On Friday, September 1st there was a serious two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. The collision was reported at roughly 2:31 p.m. in the 10000 block of US Highway 301 South, near Raleigh Road. The driver of a blue motorcycle was traveling southbound on Highway 301, and was slowing down to turn left into the driveway of his home when he was rear-ended by a blue passenger car, also traveling southbound.
Because of the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and seriously hurt. He was rushed by Johnston County EMS to WakeMed for treatment. The driver of the car did not sustain any injuries. The driver was reportedly headed to South Johnston High School to pick up a student when the crash occurred.
Charges regarding the accident are pending.
