A man has passed away after he was struck by multiple drivers on Bingham Drive and Frankie Avenue area. Officers responded to an accident involving a pedestrian call on Saturday, September 16th at roughly 9:21 p.m. The victim in the incident is 22-year-old Ja’Lauis McDougald, he passed away after being hit by at least three vehicles.
McDougald was walking across the road when a driver saw him in the roadway and tried to avoid hitting him but was unsuccessful and struck him. After impact with the first vehicle, McDougald was thrown into the opposite lane of traffic where officers said he was struck by two other vehicles driving toward Raeford Road. Those drivers didn’t stop after hitting McDougald.
Police said one driver was operating a Dodge Charger. The second was operating an unknown SUV. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
