Motorcyclist Dies in Crash in Spartanburg County

A motorcyclist has passed away in an accident in Spartanburg County Tuesday evening, August 16th. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Battleground Road.

A Toyota sedan was driving west on Battleground Road while a motorcycle was heading east on Battleground Road. The car tried to make a left turn onto a private drive and the two collided.

Officials said the motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where they later died. The driver of the Toyota was not injured. The names of the individuals involved in the accident have not yet been released.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
