A Johnston County family is mourning the death of Scott Pacinelli after a 19-year-old man, Niklas Daronte Freeman who authorities said had been drinking, failed to stop at a stop sign, and drove straight into their home.
60 year old Scott Pacinelli, died Wednesday August 2nd after a car blew through a stop sign on Raleigh Road, driving through Pacinellis yard and hit him just outside his house and continued to drive into his home. Pacinelli’s partner of 20 years, Kimberly Norris, said Scott was outside watering plants when the crash happened. Norris stated the couple’s 16-year-old daughter was asleep in the house at the time of the car crash and was unharmed.
Authorities say driver Niklas Daronte Freeman had been drinking prior to getting behind the wheel. Freeman is charged with Reckless driving, misdemeanor death by vehicle, and driving after consuming under 21 years old among a few other charges, according to arrest warrants.
