One person passed away and another was injured in a single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning, August 30th in southeast Charlotte. A 2004 Ford Explorer drove off Albemarle Road and hit a tree at approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

34-year-old Teasia Monaye Gregory, the driver of the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old passenger was taken to Atrium Health Main for treatment of injuries.

Investigators determined the Ford was traveling east on Albemarle Road when Gregory lost control of the vehicle, drove off the right side of the road, and struck a tree. Excessive speed and intoxication appear to be factors in the crash. The toxicology results are pending.

At The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor, our hearts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of Teasia who suffered this tragic loss of life. We also extend our prayers to the young person facing injuries and wish them a healthy recovery. We share our condolences for this devastating car accident.
