An early morning crash was reported in Riegelwood on Tuesday, September 12th. The crash happened at roughly 6:40 a.m. when a car ran into the back of a semi-truck that was carrying logs.
The initial investigation showed that the car made contact only with the trailer. A blue sedan and a log truck were both traveling north on Highway 87 when the log truck stopped at the intersection. The sedan neglected to slow down and slammed into the rear of the log truck. The driver of the car passed away as a result of the accident. Authorities have not released the driver’s identity at this time.
