Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Charlotte, NC

A man passed away after he crashed into an SUV and was ejected from his motorcycle in northeast Charlotte on Sunday evening, August 27th. The crash occurred along North Tryon Street near Pavilion Boulevard around 6 p.m.

The initial investigation of the accident revealed that the driver of the motorcycle, 25-year-old Adrian Lee Taylor Avery, was speeding on North Tryon Street when a Kia Sorento turned left into the path of the motorcycle. Avery collided with the Kia causing him to get ejected from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was found not to be impaired. It is unknown if impairment was a factor for the motorcycle rider, but toxicology results are pending. As of Monday, no charges have been filed.
