A woman passed away after she was struck by a car while driving her moped in Walkertown. At about 5:40 p.m. on September 5th, the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a call for help in regards to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Yadkinville Road and Transou Road.
The driver of the moped, 52-year-old Charity Denise Eddleman, was transported to a local hospital facility to receive medical care. She suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
The initial investigation and evidence from the scene indicate that Eddlemen was driving on Yadkinville Road and was hit by a car that was turning at the intersection of Yadkinville Road and Transou Road. The other vehicle and Eddleman collided at the intersection. The driver of the second vehicle did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
On Sept. 11, 2023, Charity Denise Eddleman died due to her injuries from the crash.
