One person passed away after a motorcycle collision Monday afternoon, September 4th according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol
The motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. in the 3300 block of Barwell Road in southeast Raleigh. The road was closed for hours in both directions while troopers investigated the cause of the crash.
Highway Patrol said a motorcyclist was heading north on Barwell Road and attempted to pass the center line. He crashed into another car head-on and was pronounced dead at the scene. Highway Patrol said the other driver was not injured and impairment is not suspected.
The motorcyclist will be identified once their next of kin is notified.
