Crash In Greenville, NC Leaves One Person Dead

One person has passed away after a fatal car crash on Sunday, August 13th. Kyrell Harper who’s from Goldsboro, was trying to evade a traffic stop when he crashed into an SUV at the intersection of Stantonsburg Road and B’s Barbecue Road with the vehicle he was driving. Harper’s vehicle lost control, went off the road, hit a road sign, and tree, and then caught fire.

The Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Harper was caught going 101 mph in a 70 mph zone while driving east on I-587 near the Mozingo Road exit around 1:54 p.m. Responders were able to free Harper, but the Goldsboro man in the passenger seat, Bryson Devonte, 20, was killed.

The driver of the SUV that Harper crashed into was not injured, but the car suffered minor damages. Harper is being charged with multiple charges including misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and felony flee and elude.
